Knowledge and Learning

Underpins the Forum’s commitment to evidence-based, anticipatory, and locally grounded preparedness. This strategic area focuses on generating, synthesizing, and sharing knowledge across climate, disaster risk, and humanitarian systems to inform decision-making and strengthen adaptive capacities at all levels.

This pillar directly advances SDG 13.3 on climate education, awareness, and institutional capacity-building, and Sendai Framework Priority 1, which emphasizes understanding disaster risk through data, evidence, and learning. It also contributes to Article 7 of the Paris Agreement, which highlights the role of knowledge, science, and learning in strengthening adaptation action.

The Forum promotes two-way learning by connecting community knowledge and lived experience with scientific research, policy analysis, and innovation from academia, practitioners, and the private sector. Through its Network of Networks, it facilitates peer-to-peer exchange, cross-regional learning, and dissemination of practical tools and lessons learned. This approach reflects the Pakistan NAP’s emphasis on learning, monitoring, and adaptive management, and supports the transparency and reporting ambitions outlined in Pakistan NDC 3.0.

By embedding learning into partnerships, policies, and investments including those related to risk financing and insurance this pillar ensures preparedness strategies remain responsive, inclusive, and adaptive over time.
