Strengthning Emergency Response Capacity of Local Humanitarian Actors in Asia

Start Date: 1 March 2018 End Date: 31 July 2019

The program aims to improve the emergency preparedness, to response and recover from disaster in Asia by strengthening humanitarian leadership and technical capacity of national governments, local humanitarian organizations and the private sector to lead and better engage in the humanitarian framework. It will also help in improving the inter-organizational coordination by engaging the local humanitarian organizations and institutions in the dialogues with the national governments and private sector and inter-agency networks through partnerships, knowledge resources, training and networking opportunities.

Objectives of the program.

The main objectives if the program are:

  1. To improve humanitarian leadership and coordination through systemic and local institutional strengthening.
  2. To strengthen the institutional capacity of local humanitarian actors for effective emergency response.
  3. To attain better coordination of humanitarian actions by enhancing humanitarian information management and knowledge exchange.
  4. To establish more effective partnership among national and local humanitarian actors.
